We provide a bespoke strategy of developing and deploying flexible data exchange and biometric systems towards promoting inclusion for several layers of financial institutions and other sectors. This has infused speed to their delivery and accelerate growth.

  • 2016

    Alternate Chairman, Board of Directors: Gel Utility Limited “GELUL”

    2016-PRESENT

    GEL Utility is Project Company with BBB+ Credit Rating (and AAA Bond Credit Rating) sponsored by GENESIS, Engro Corporation (largest conglomerate in Pakistan) and GE. GELUL fully funded, owns and operate the pioneering 84MW of Gas-fired power plant providing dedicated captive power supply to the largest complex refinery in Sub-Sahara Africa: the Port Harcourt Refinery Complex, Nigeria.

     

    The installed capacity is planned for expansion with additional 120MW Grid-connected power supply to bring installed capacity to 204MW

     

    This investment represents GE’s first Risk-Capital investment in the entire African continent.

     

    Furthermore, the US Government (through USAID/DFC) issued its unconditionally 15year Bond Guarantee alongside InfraCredit in support of GELUL’s Series-One Bond of N13Billion (arguably largest Energy Bond issued under the regulation of Nigeria’s Security and Exchange Commission “SEC”) which was successfully issued in August 2019, as part of GELUL’s N50Billion Bond Issuance Program.

    A financial and strategic advisory firm with Pan-African and global perspective in transaction management and execution. DFC Capital is licensed by the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission to provide investment and financial advisory services to a wide range of clients; including private, government and quasi-government establishments.

     

    Though, just about a decade since inception, DFC Capital’s personnel team and strategic working partnerships have over 30 years of hands-on transaction experience cutting across several industry sectors including oil & gas, banking and financial services, real estate and infrastructure, energy and power, agriculture, mining and solid minerals, telecom, hospitality etc. DFC Capital is a unique for business needs.

    Director: Greenfield Global Inceptis (GGI)

    2013 - PRESENT

    GGI is the owner and operators of the planned world class Sustainable Resort City in Nigeria to be located on the 3,000+ Ha Osolu Islands off the shore of Lagos, Nigeria. Also referred to as Osolu Island City Project, it is designed as a state of the future model African City with a Green & Smart City Signature & with Sustainability at its core. The city will run on privately designed, built, operated and maintained land, rail, air & water transportation network, Civil Infrastructure, Security & City Administration. The city’s development is estimated to span over 20 years while the first phase of the infrastructure is projected to cost in excess of USD1 Billion.

    A privately owned, internationally diversified African company, set up to take advantage of investment opportunities in Nigeria and the African continent, as identified by the holding entity. It is a Holding Company with interests in various companies operating in major sectors of the economy such as: Agriculture, Telecommunication, ICT, Energy, Infrastructure Development and Financial services.     Chairman: Fortis Microfinance Bank Plc (FORTISMFB)

    2012 - 2017

    FortisMFB was a leading microfinance bank in Nigeria. It was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and was granted a national license by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). It had a strong bias for supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMES) and providing financial services to the unbanked and under-banked in rural and semi-urban areas.

     

    This earned it a global support through a development fund from FMO, the Netherlands Entrepreneurial Development Bank and other international development organizations. With a customer base of about 200,000 and a strong brand and growing market share, Fortis was poised to becoming one of the biggest microfinance banks in West Africa, with an eye to becoming a competitive player in the Sub-Saharan Africa market.

     

    Fortis was actively supporting about 50,000 women through its micro-credit scheme, which enables them to access loans without collateral. As part of its strategy to provide opportunities and empower women, it organized a women’s fair in partnership with GEMS4 (a DFID and UKaid funded project), Primlaks Group Ltd to launch the Fortis Micro-Distributorship scheme, with 7000 women in attendance.

    Fortis boasted of 14 branches across Abuja and in 59 branches spread across 17 states through its subsidiary Support Multipurpose Cooperative (SMC). With a balance sheet in excess of N30 billion and a daily turnover of N2 billion during my tenure as the Board Chairman, it was poised to make financial services accessible to a large segment of the productive Nigerian population.

    GENESIS is an integrated energy company with demonstrated operations across the industry value-chain of Oil, Gas and Power. GENESIS has developed several thriving businesses in the energy sector of Africa and beyond and significant downstream oil supply foot prints through its oil trading associated company.

     

    Genesis Energy builds 'Project Special Purpose Vehicles- PSPV' as stand-alone subsidiaries in the Oil, Gas and Power Sectors in Africa.

    Director: Fortis Mobile Money Limited

    2011 -2019

    Fortis mobile money Ltd (FMM) was licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2009 to provide fast, easy, convenient and affordable payment solutions that be geared towards the financial inclusion of the unbanked and underbanked segments of the Nigerian population. Full operations started in 2010 with Fortis money, staying true to its mission by delivering innovative solutions leveraging digital finance technology to advance the financial inclusion agenda. This has culminated in the deployment of such innovative solutions as Mobile Microfinance that won the EFINA innovation grant in 2014 and oversaw the disbursement of over N6 billion in microloans to over 400,000 women through their mobile phones. The organization has blazed the trail in digital finance in Nigeria; scoring several firsts in the deployment of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure to create innovative products that meet the needs of its teeming customers especially as it concerns the financial inclusion of the unbanked segment of the population.

     

    This has also seen Fortis Money deploy the MPOS handheld technology and the NFC (Tap and Pay) innovation that has drastically reduced exclusion in their areas of operations.

     

    This has enabled the organization to deploy payment solutions in rural and peri-urban communities lacking the traditional banking and payment infrastructure.

     

    FMM, in the recent years has in partnership with the Federal Government of Nigeria, NGOs like Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Save the Children, Mercy Corps and other International organisations under the National Cash Transfer disbursed over N55,000,000,000.00 (Fifty-five billion naira) only, which is about USD 100 million to over 265,000 beneficiaries in designated states of Nigeria and still counting.

     

    FMM, currently has over 4,500 agents strategically spread across 34 states of the 36 states of Nigeria and continuously growing subscriber base.

    Director: African Green Project Ltd (AFRIGREEN)

    African Green Projects Limited is a Real Estate Investment and consultancy company incorporated in 2008 in response to the huge housing deficit which has imposed a strain in demand for affordable housing units across the country.

     

    At AfriGreen, we realize that buying a home is buying a dream, the company has therefore invested in robust technology to meet the desired level of efficiency, customer service delivery and quality products and also create a portfolio of affordable and mid-market housing products for outright sale to the general public. To this end, the organization is in strategic partnership with Family Home Funds Limited, a Social Housing Intervention Initiative of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The synergy is projected to support AfriGreen’s proposed delivery of over 100,000 housing units across Nigeria.

     

    In furtherance to the audacious vision of the company, African Green Projects has signed a contract with the Nigerian Police Force to structure, design and implement an Integrated Home Ownership Solution (IHOS) that will provide one hundred thousand (100,000) decent and affordable mortgageable homes to officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force.

     

    A similar agreement has also been established with the Nigerian Army, through a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of another One hundred thousand (100,000) housing units through the Army Post Service Housing Scheme.

     

    African Green Projects is also a frontline contender for the NNPC Smart City Project, while creating synergy with various State Governments for mass Housing Scheme.

    Chairman: Site Services Technologies Limited (SSTL)

    2007 - Present

    An IT and integrated health management consultancy company that provides integrated chain management services for Hospital development and management, Housing, Educational, Vocation and Training centers using local expertise, with extensive technical know-how and professionals in the Diaspora.  Its strategic and technical partners include Eagle Scientific Limited, Hospital Assist, Stauch Vorster Architects, TEC Engineering Co. Nig. Ltd.

     

    These are companies with global demonstrable records and experience. Site Services Technologies Limited is the answer to the elusive optimal local content participation in Nigeria Hospital and Health Management industry and national development programmes. 

     

    Site Services has undertaken a number of major hospital and IT projects in Nigeria, including engineering the equipment consultancy services for the development of 200 Bed Specialist Teaching Hospital Project with the Kaduna State Government, 120 bed Kesley Harrison Hospital in Port Harcourt and the design and implementation of automated single patient data record for Kaduna state and others.

    2006 - Present

    An indigenous civil engineering construction company with professional capacity and expertise to handle Civil and Construction Engineering works, which cuts across a broad spectrum of Civil Engineering, Construction Works, Transportation and Engineering - viz Bridges, Roads, Highways, Railways And Airports; Specialist Foundation works requiring Deep Soil Improvements and Piling Works; Inter Basin Water Transfers and Regional Pipeline Constructions; Dam Construction and Water Resources Engineering – i.e. Portable And Waste Water Treatment Plant Facilities Construction; General Building and Construction Works; Oil & Gas Civil Component Constructions; Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Plant and Installations while having competence in Project Execution and Management.

     

    The Company has certified professional personnel who have extensive technical knowledge and experience and as such, is professionally competent with an engaged financial resource base, while maintaining a strong affiliation with notable technical partners of both local & international repute.
